Peep The Situation’s J Mac interviews H-Town legend Z-Ro at the inaugural 420 Mega Music, Arts & Film Festival Saturday, April 20, at Jones Plaza.
After announcing that No Love Boulevard would be his last album in 2017, Houston Hop legend Z-Ro hit fans with Codeine just six months later, in a return to form that proved no matter how much hate he has for those that hate him – a central theme of some of his classic tracks – he still has love for the game. In 2018 he kept his flow drippin’ the same game in 2018 with the slightly more eclectic 18-track effort Sadism, a love letter to Houston fans that have been there from the beginning, powered by constant collaborators Beanz & Kornbread on the production, end and peppered with outstanding features from artist like The Suffers Kam Franklin, whose soulful crooning on the standout track Hi Haters – transforms a good song into an outstanding one in combination with Ro’s smooth delivery that gives it almost a Mr. Biggs channeling a trap-Tupac vibe.
So, what’s next for the ghetto superstar? Peep The Situation’s J Mac caught up with the headliner backstage before his performance at the inaugural 20 Mega Music, Arts & Film Festival recently to find out. Peepthesituation and find out why the duo is twinnin’, what he’s about to drop next, his work in the community and how Mac plans to take 10 racks from the One Deep Entertainment impresario.
